Pregnancy Week 12: Recap, Symptoms, and Cravings

Week 12

Hey everyone! Week 12 was a great week! Getting to week 12 is always a huge accomplishment for my during pregnancy so to pass the 12 week mark was amazing.

This week was almost identical to last week.  I've still been really tired this week but it hasn't been at all as bad as last week.  I've still had a pretty bad headache but it comes and goes.  I've been taking 1 Tylenol with 1 Benadryl and that has really been helping to knock out my headache at night so I can get some rest.

In just the last few days, my morning sickness has kicked back up again.  It's in the mornings right after I wake up.  I'm not vomitting only dry heaving.  But once it's done, I feel fine.

Daylights savings time messed me up and I wasn't able to fall asleep on Sunday or Monday at a normal time.  That wouldn't have been so bad, but my 9 month old is teething and he was up every 2 hours on Monday and Tuesday night.  So, needless to say, I have been taking every opportunity to take a nap.  If he is napping, I'm napping.  That has definitely helped.

I had more round ligament pains this week.  That is totally normal for this point in my pregnancy.  Incase you're wondering, round ligament pains basically feel like a stretching or pulling in your abdomen. It what you feel as your uterus grows.  It's not painful but can be irritating if it persists for a long period of time.

We had some beautiful photos taken this week of our family to announce the pregnancy.  My sister is an amazing photographer and did an incredible job capturing our family.

If you are in the Hampton Roads area you should totally check her out!

One last thing for the week, I normally have a sweet tooth all the time.  I baked brownies the other night and after taking one bite I was done.  They weren't appealing to me at all.  Very strange, but most things in pregnancy are. =)

Pregnancy Week 11: Recap, Symptoms, and Cravings

Week 11

Our baby is as big as a plum this week!! I still find it hard to believe that something that small can make me so sick.  =)

This week was the best week I have had so far!! Friday night, when I was exactly 11 weeks, I felt little flutters in my tummy! It was the exact same feeling that I felt when my second son during my 11 week ultrasound with him.  I was unsure what I was feeling until the ultrasound tech asked if I could feel him moving.  I couldn't believe I was already feeling this little nugget flutter.  Baby flutters and feeling the baby move is by far my favorite part of being pregnant.

I have been exhausted this week.  I have been needing to take a nap everyday and still by 5pm I'm falling asleep again.  This is a typical symptom of pregnancy, but it has just usually happened to me earlier on and would be going away by now.

At 11 weeks and 1 day, I had some more round ligament stretching pains.  These were more intense then the ones I have had previously.  When I woke up the following morning, I could feel a noticeable bump on my lower tummy.

I went to the doctor this week to have my iron levels rechecked and I was down 3 pounds.  I'm convinced their scale is broken.  I think there is a better chance that I haven't gained any weight yet at all.  There is a different scale in every room at my doctor so it isn't consistent.  I'm keeping track of my weight at home now and I'm still 122 like I was prior to my first appointment.  I,unfortunately, was still working off a few extra baby pounds when I got pregnant.

I have still been sick on and off, and some days are just better than others.  For the most part I have felt good everyday with the exception of the morning time.

This belly shot was taken at exactly 11 weeks.  Despite the weight I'm still carrying around from my last pregnancy, you can already see my tummy popping out!

Symptoms:

Slight nausea
Head ache
Extreme exhaustion
Round ligament pains
Meat is leaving a metalic taste in my mouth.
Very thirsty.

Cravings:
Fruit (this seems to be a repetitive one)

Aversions:
Chicken, unless it's on a Chick Fil A biscuit.

Thank you all for reading!

Pregnancy Week 10: Weekly Recap, Cravings, and Symptoms

Week 10

This week I had my first official OB appointment.  I went last week and had all of my blood draw ahead of time.  All of the results of the blood work were normal except that I am borderline anemic, which is normal for me.  I have loaded up my diet with foods high in iron because my body has an intolerance to iron.

This ultrasound was done at exactly 10 weeks.  My sweet tiny person danced through the entire ultrasound.  It was so amazing to watch.  His little hands and feet were moving back and forth.  It actually looked like he waved to us too.  The doctor said he's very active.  =)

His heart beat was strong and both of our vitals were good.  I had gained 2 pounds since my 7 week visit, but I have since lost it.  I'm pretty sure it was water weight.  I was so thirsty the night before and the morning of my appointment that I drank a ton of water.

I go back to the doctor at 16 weeks but won't know the sex of the baby until around 20 weeks.  I didn't want to find out the sex this time around, but my husband is insisting on it.

Symptoms:
I still have morning sickness but it is getting better.  I have good days and bad days but for the most part it is getting better daily.
I still have a headache.
This week I have a backache but I've had no other cramping.
I have started to noticed more round ligament pains.
Peanut Butter makes me sick every time I eat it! You'd think I would stop eating it but I want it so bad!

Cravings:
Fruit
Vegetables
Basically, I want to eat fresh food.
